Yep. If I tell anyone I’m an engineer they say, so do you fix cars. No, I design the machines/robots that make cars. Whaaaaaat, robots don’t make cars.

Remember to read to your kids a lot and early on so they don't end up with so bad verbal communication skills that even as adults they'll struggle to explain cnc machining 😩

😂 you think machining is hard to explain…
it absolutely is haha and I don’t take anything away from that lmao. I work at a business that rebuilds machining spindles. Anything from lathe heads, to milling heads, to surface grinders, to tool dressing spindles, we rebuild everything that has a turning head on it, including many of the motors that drive the older spindles that are not internally motorized and the modern 5-axis mills that have sensors lodged in 50% of the parts included in the spindle. Describing my job usually starts with describing the many facets of machining, then I have to describe how I tear apart and rebuild those machines lol. However I will say that I often enjoy saying that I often build machines that spin more than 15 times faster than the average car engine. (90-100 thousand rpm spindles are not uncommon for us, and the fastest we’ve ever done are 150k rpm spindles
