The 2015 Samworth Brothers Charity Challenge smashed records with over £370,000 raised thanks to an incredible fundraising effort by the teams and their supporters at Samworth Brothers, as well as the Group’s suppliers and customers. Over £30,000 of this total was given to a number of local charities to Lake Vyrnwy.
Not only was the Charity Challenge a huge fundraising success, it was also a real smasher; according to Anil Ahir, Charity Challenge 2015 Organiser. “It was the biggest and toughest event we have ever organised”, he said. “All the teams were stretched to their limits as they took on the punishing challenges, which made the most of the rugged terrain around Lake Vyrnwy in mid-Wales.”
The first weekend, saw 54 teams tackle canoeing, off-road cycling, an obstacle course and orienteering, while on the second weekend 52 teams took part. There were also some VIP participants with Olympic triathlon medallists Alistair and Jonny Brownlee taking part in ‘Team Brownlee’.
