This unique steel sculpture is inlaid with brass and pure copper. She's called Flora after the Greek goddess of Flowers and Nature. All the individual pieces were scrap, left over from my making of metal flowers (See Creative Metal By Alex). Firstly they are all cleaned and de-burred, the pieces are then heated and formed into shape at the anvil, they are then individually placed into a mould of the final shape of the sculpture and the steel is welded together. The Copper and Brass pieces are soldered in place. After extensive cleaning and polishing the sculpture is protected with a strong clear lacquer.
