People say they want their artists to be authentic, but what they really want is for them to be perfect.
People live their life and experience different things. She just talked about the things she experienced.
Also, growing up in New York is just different. There's so many people, so many blended cultures that it is normal for Hispanic people to use the n-word because theyre going through the same struggles.
Rap music (music in general) has been about disturbing things for my whole life (30 now).
It is not just Cardi B. The whole music industry is full of f*d up people who talk about f*d up s*it in their music.
At least Cardi actually experienced the things she talks about 🤷🏾

I live in Chicago Im black and Puerto Rican and latinos been calling themselves ninjas for my whole life. Also diff races of ppl grow up in urban areas and thats how they talk. We had white kids that grew up in the hood and not only did we call them ninjas but they greeted they friends like that. Im not gate keeping the word. My bff is polish and i call him a ninja constantly ❤

I have to disagree with you. Card b has Afro Latino descent her mother is African and Latino. Her father is Dominican.. that is African descent. Just because she is light does not mean she isn’t black.
I don’t think black or white or anyone should use the n word. I’m not sure if people just accept it because she lighter or if she is a rapper that has been accepted by others that connect with the culture of hip hop😊 just my humble opinio

Im from Jersey, as you can tell from comments its way different in the tri state(NY,NJ,Connecticut) area. Our ppl that grew up in the hood can use that word because they were there with us. Cardi gets a pass on usage of the word. Fat Joe uses it because hes from the hood also. I agreed with you on the tricking b.s. it aint kool & is not right. Thats how she talks because of the environment she was raised in, i actually knew a lot of women who spoke like that.

What do you mean Cardi B isn't black? Do you mean only African Americans are black? I am black but US say white. I can choose how I identify. The reason black in America is only 13% is because a lot of black people are classified as white. Just because you speak another language doesn't mean anything. If African Americans are classified as black then they are just indigenous Indians.
