That is today's reality. It costs us a fortune to keep kosher, as not many in our environment do, today. I do the best I can. During Shabbat and all the holidays, I am even more stringent. It would be fabulous if I could keep super Glatt. The problem is getting meat and dairy here. I travel monthly back to NY from PA to shop for food. It is getting harder these days as there are fewer places to shop in.
I don't have ANY KOSHER restaurants here. When we go to NYC, it is at least $65.00.😂😢

We havent eaten out in a restaurant since before COVID. We get carry out very occasionally, and the prices seem typical.

Usually £18-40.00 depending on halal restaurant, usually 40.00 range is for big platter of variety turkish meat including lambchop, variety of kebabs, rice and chips and drinks...
For what you bought, I think £50.00 is abit much but then again it kosher restaurant which is less common...and sushi should not cost that much for cold fish dish, its not even hard to make...minimal effort

For a family of 4, this seems about right these days especially as sushi is generally higher priced. And as confirmed kosher, definitely worth a bit more.
