Yep! Happened to us in the 2008ish crash. It started with our 401k through my husbands company that we managed instead of letting the company just do. Took so long to build it up and just days to dwindle it down. And the company only has so many options to move your money into, none of which weāre making money. We put it into what was loosing the least. Didnāt work. Just kept getting worse and worse. Then we lost our incomes. My husbands was the most shocking and a gutt punch. Had been with them for over 25 yrs at the time and sacrificed so much for. But they always kept him employed. They just didnāt have anymore jobs to send him to. In fact most of the companies in his line of work didnāt have any jobs. So we short sold our overinflated home for a rent to own larger house at half the price thinking we were doing a good thing. Gotta just be a temporary thing right? WRONG! Actually my timeline of events is probably off bcs Iāve tried to forget that painful stage of our life. End result is we lost everything and I mean everything down to all the jewelry of value just so we could feed our family. Still havenāt been able to replace even our wedding rings or buy another home bcs even though we moved AGAIN to be in a cheaper home and save some money, BOOM!! Our rent increased by $800 a month! All be damned, itās happening AGAIN!! Everytime Iāve said something I get the smart ass response that we need to ālive within our meansā and actually believed it and felt so much guilt for it to the point of being sick. Well the silver lining is weāve learned a little bit since then. Itās not our faults. The system is rigged and this time there is no coming back. Thatās my opinion so take it or leave it from a family thatās worked hard and paid our bills on time every month and thought we were doing everything right until we couldnāt anymore. Little hope now as Iām disabled but somehow donāt qualify for aid and my 71 yr old husband is still working. This is the way that people become homeless or how the middle class disappears and gets forced into the system. Lessons from God? Yeah maybe some but I think itās more about showing us the evil thatās devouring the world. Still holding on to our faith that God always wins though. God Bless ā¤ļøāļøšš
