Thai food we get in the UK isn’t always reflective of what you get in Thailand 🇹🇭. Khao Soi is lovely, as is Sai Oua ( sausages they make in the North of Thailan

Ooo good idea! Planning to rent an apartment for a couple months in Chiang Mai later this year. Perhaps I shall do a Thai cooking class on day 1. It will pay for itself if I can then cook my own Thai food instead of restaurants every day 👍

We started off picking fresh ingredients at Kom Kom Market, with the loveliest chef Aek making sure I didn’t accidentally grab a scarily spicy chilli 🌶️
Then back to the kitchen where I whipped up (you get a choice beforehand):
🍜 Pad See Ew
🌶️ Tom Yum Soup
🥬 Fresh Spring Rolls
🥭 Mango Sticky rRce (unreal)
🍛 And of course, the iconic Northern Thai dish: Khao Soi (my new fave)
And honestly my top tip is DO NOT EAT BEFORE YOU COME HERE 😆
There were just six of us in the class (numbers probably lower due to low season!) and we just had the nicest time together.
If you’re coming to Chiang Mai, this is 1000% worth doing. I actually can’t believe how simple some of the recipes were and they sent us them afterwards so we can recreate at home 😌
