PTSD triggers don't even work that way. People can be triggered by all sorts of inoffensive things that remind them of a bad experience; the smell of a cologne or laundry powder that a rapist used, for example, or the feel of a certain fabric. My oma survived the Semarang Incident and had panic attacks triggered by brown rice, because that was all she had to eat in the camp, tiny helpings of brown rice. She didn't expect everyone to get rid of brown rice, she just didn't keep it in her own house and we wouldn't order it if we were out with her. And she sought therapy and support for dealing with the trauma and did a lot of work to raise awareness of the war crimes that were covered up afterwards, to hopefully stop them happening again and seek justice for them. A far healthier way to manage the triggers.
