A high-density, quick-drying wire marker that makes permanently re-coloring wires simple and fast. With just one pass you can completely and evenly coat wires sized #14 to #10 using the hole. For wires larger than #10 you can use the notched tip. Whether you are reidentifying white wires on NM cables or travelers on 3-way lighting circuits, this marker is the perfect option for changing the color of your wires.

Mark My Wire is available in black, blue, red, and white or a kit of all 4 colors.

SAVE TIME – The convenient hole lets you thread your wire through the marker’s tip. This makes wire reidentification a breeze as you mark the entire wire in seconds with one smooth motion. No more tedious phase taping.
LESS MESS – Work clean, organized, and consistent. The hole and notch system gives you more control over the marker and wire, preventing paint from covering your fingers or other wires. This wire marker also produces cleaner looking results than tape and in less time.
PORTABLE – Easily able to fit in a tool pouch or bag, this electrical wire marker takes care of all your wire re-colouring needs without taking up too much space.

This simple tool will completely revolutionize your approach to color-coding wires. You can pass wires size #14 to #10, stranded or solid, right through the hole but larger wires can still be painted using the notched tip. Fully functional as a normal felt tip pen, this wire marking system should be your first choice for wire re-coloring.

It’s fun on the other end when you think it’s neutral but it’s actually hot.

In Belgium it's not allowed, because if the cable gets damaged along it's route the green-yellow wire is exposed and is used in this case as a live wire. Very dangerous if another electrician comes and doesn't know that earth-wire is actually a live wire...

Pretty sure the NEC prohibits that on anything smaller than #4

White is not always neutral! #1 tip for electrical. And grounds are hot sometimes too

I am long since retired from the sins of unmarked wires , I ran into many over the years . Some in the 400 pluse range some DC, thus the meter I carried , and caution treating every wire as hot .

What I think faast-drying paint is beter than tape, but you're only allowed to re-color neutral on manufactured cables like Romex or BX)

Tape doesn't rub away. Tape will stay there forever unless someone physically takes it off. I'd use tape especially because it's an outdoor service.

No one wants to mention the fact you can’t put romex in conduit if it’s an a wet-location which this most certainly is. Other than that very clean thought out work.

Sir are you within the safe operating temperature of that marker? It looks awfully cold there to be using a marker. πŸ˜‚

I hope the wire doesn't go any further, because it would probably be hard to follow a wire that suddenly changes colours.

This would be great for when you're running a switch leg.

Maybe during a new build or something. I can see this creating all sorts of issues down the line. Yes that was a double entendre.

Is this just a marker or a new form of liquid tape?

The wire MARKING for more specific ID or ease of visual confirmation, totally cool. And that's one thing. It's a whole separate ballgame to re-COLOR wire. Idk about the legality of it, but from what I can imagine, not many electricians, electrical engineers, maintenance workers, military electrical, etc, would be in favor of or HAPPY with somebody recoloring a wire, unless literally the entire thing is recolored with the appropriate quality-for-application, highly adhering ink.

The AWG of the conductor depends on the load used. 12 AWG is good for a 20A breaker.
