I live in Thailand and from the UK! Over here (a developing nation with a much lower economy than the UK) You cannot get a visa to permanently live here it doesn't matter who you are or how much money you have your visa will always be temporary and you have to report every 30 days and they can ask you to leave at any time. Fail to report or renew your visa its a fine and deportation can't pay the fine its prison! Come to the country illegal its a definite prison deportation and life ban form Thailand. There are illegal immigrants that have been sitting in jail over here for 20 odd years because they had no documentation and the country they claim to come from will not take them back. If Thailand can do it and preserve the custom and traditions by doing so then why can’t we. And Thailands over crowded prisons make England's look like Butlins.(sorry you have to report every 90 days not 30 and you have to have a regular income above $500 a month, permanent address and thai bank account)
