My 57 bug one of many I have the original tank from Germany had a dip stick to check the gas.

I had a 59', and I used a stick to check the fuel level. Stick it in the gas tank and pull it out and see how far up it is on the stick. That's how I checked the gas in my 59.

I got my late grandpa’s beetle and had to ship it cross country. When it arrived, I found a wooden stick he marked with a fill line. I miss that grandpa engineering ♥️
