I really love how she loved Matty. Not being a Swiftie or 1975 fan, to me, it revealed way more depth & complexity to Taylor & Matty both.
They just come-off as such polar opposites, yet she sings of them in such a raw & truly intimate way & writes of them being twin flames. I mean you can feel her love of him in how she sings this song.
The way she writes about him shows how she took him in... observing his every move.
If she had changed him... she wouldn't have loved him as much. The truth is...she was attracted to the smoking train of him... the danger... the "chaos & revelry".

I just realized how much i appreciate your short video with music description of these songs.
I can fix him, was not one of my fav from TTPD. Also, i was kind of turned off with the entire song about her tryna convince herself that she can fix her lover.
When i get that theme, i didn't really look into the metaphors she used in it. And, you just pointed one out to me!
