But unless you have exceptional skill, you can't really do a whole lot without a degree.
These examples of successful people are so small that it's irrelevant, also want to point out that these people were exceptionally smart and dropped out of Harvard and these top of the league universities, a skillset at the end of the day is the most important aspect however the degree will do you a Giant favor in getting a secure job.

The point of getting a college degree is to prove you have a working knowledge to work in an swe environment. If you were to become an electrical engineer, you need a degree because it's really difficult to obtain that knowledge on your own

The internship programs from uni can help you secure a job by providing you with work experience on top of your degree

The issue is having those skills and having made several full stack applications, but not being able to market yourself. The skill set alone won't get you the job because you have to convince an employer that you have that skill set

Skill set is obtainable through many, many means. Work ethic is more deterministic of success.

There's an important distinction here. Yes, some of the most successful entrepreneurs never graduated from college, but they for sure got into prestigious universities in the first place. This is drastically different from someone who partied all the time in middle school and high school and didn't get into a good university.

A degree is important. Notice how in these videos they keep citing the same people over and over again. Bill Gates, Zuckerberg, Jobs, they never show u the stories who people who dropped out of college and failed. Also, the majority of people on Earth aren't self motivated enough to just sit down and study. They need to be put in a system that is paced and has consequences if they fail. If most people on Earth are self motivated, then the world would be fixed by now.
No offense, but the people who did make it without a degree suffer heavy survivorship bias.

Yea these people dropped out cuz they were so busy working on their business or idea, this doesn’t apply to your average joe that has nothing to offer and just wants to avoid going to school. If you are young there is no excuse to not get a degree, your responsibilities are very few for the most part and you can go to a community college and knock out half of your degree, then finish it elsewhere. If you want to avoid that you can also get a degree online through places like WGU, this $60k degree nonsense if just horseshit.

Learn the ecological approach to learning, stop spending a ton of time reading and doing tutorial hand holding, you barely really learn or build any skill this way, as soon as possible start building things and the more often you are making mistakes and learning how to fix them the faster you will become skilled and competent.
