Sucks when you have 2 kids with them and they've actively worked to isolate you and put you in a situation where you need them (such as quitting working after your car got totaled so you can't save to put a down payment on a new one, meaning you now have to use their vehicle to get to work and support your kids). I literally only stay because if I don't my kids will suffer existentially in the short term. I have no family, I've been isolated from my support structure, it's rough. I only just 3 days ago told one of my few remaining friends what's really been going on for over 2 years.

Take her advice that confronting a narc to their face is not going to go your way. I was exposing my narc brother and was actually shocked when he attacked me in public at a convenience store. Strangers had to pull him off me, me being his disabled sister. It was so heartbreaking bc I knew he was a self-centered selfish a-hole but I never thought he would physically attack me. He's 72 friggin years old but in fine physical shape....I use a walker

I found out after that he had been smearing me for years and had convinced many in our family that I was the crazy one and the narcissist. Ugh they are such liars and can really flip the script.

I have seen this advice many times…but I did confront my narcex and told her that she is a narc…it made ME feel better…she was going to do everything to sabotage me anyway…maybe it was a mistake…all the experts say that it is…but I wanted her to know that I know…ymmv

Too late 😂 I pointed out his behaviors and machiavelism. Luckily it was an eye opener for a lot of people in his "circle" and yes it's difficult but for me it was a big relief and part of the healing. Even if they never take accountability it made them collapse for sure. But keep in mind it can be dangerous so be careful

You are so correct.. however, they do have a natural way to dig deep at your personal feelings..they never change..the war is with in you to NOT let them get you..understanding helps immensely..
