The turbo spins at high speeds and gets extremely hot. Don't shut the car off immediately—let it idle for 30 seconds to cool and slow down. Turning it off too soon can starve the turbo of oil, leading to damage.
In most cases, if you've been driving hard this will be a good idea.

If you have a turbo, good luck with that. I prefer naturally aspirated. Far less maintenance and more dependable!
