I feel so grateful that my husband and I never acquired a taste for alcohol. We don't buy it, we don't miss it. We drank way too much soda pop over the years, but thanks to wonderful content like the two of you produce, we are constantly searching for and reaching for healthier alternatives. Thank you for all you do!!! It is such a blessing for us (two retirees) to be able to have access to two wonderful, caring, intelligent doctors like you! Love the channel. ♥♥ Hope you have a great weekend.👍🙂 Erica & Ja

No booze or pop for me
One cup of coffee a day and lots of water keeps me happy ❤

10 years no alcohol for me. Saved every dime and my latest purchase was a brand new hip. Yes a brand new hip. I did not even blink when they gave me the price. I wrote a check out of my sober budget and Boom!

Cancer is harder folks than 2 drinks per week. Think of all the money saved by cutting back ❤

I used to drink a margarita (I love the taste) on the rare occasions when I had a driver and I didn’t take my nightly blood pressure meds since I had alcohol in my system. Over time, I realized that taking my blood pressure meds was much more important than an occasional drink, so I ditched the drink. I gave up sodas over 15 years ago and I gave up caffeine about 8 years ago. I am a water person now.

I'm down to drinking just one weekend per month now - for a total of 4 or 5 drinks in two days. I miss wine with dinner that I had routinely but, given my family's history with cancer and the new Canadian guidelines, I needed to make a change.

Managed to reduce my alcohol intake by 90% for the past three months. I sleep better and longer, I feel more energetic and I feel a lot less foolish since I am no longer doing something I know to be detrimental to my health. Also, I have lost thirteen pounds without otherwise modifying my diet. The pounds lost can’t be accounted for by the calorie reduction alone. There’s more to it than that, and I am thankful.

My hands are literally trembling while I type this because I used to be that woman crying in the doctor's office, being told my symptoms were "just part of getting older." At 42, I felt like my body was falling apart - joint pain, no energy, gaining weight no matter what I tried. Then I discovered The Peasant's Prescription by Grace Wild, and it was like finding a manual for my own body that had been written in a language I'd forgotten. She breaks down how our ancestors ate and lived before chronic disease became "normal," and the truth is almost too simple to believe. I stopped eating like a modern woman and started eating like my great-grandmother, and the transformation has been terrifying in the best way. My husband keeps asking what I'm doing differently because I look 10 years younger. This isn't about fad diets or expensive supplements. It's about remembering who we were before they convinced us we needed to be sick.

These are great guidelines. I stopped drinking 4 years ago after a cancer scare. It's so important that people realise how harmful it is to drink alcohol, even in small quantities. 🇨

Unfortunately as a society there are people who just want to eat and drink themselves ( may they be mentally healthy or not) and this puts a financial strain on public and private healthcare systems

Following a healthy lifestyle will lead that man to the point where he decides he might not need more than 2 drinks a week.

I think a lot of people don’t know the amount of alcohol that is considered one drink. They over pour and what they call one drink is actually two or three.

Think it was unfair to show this man , no one EVER interviews the “upper class”/ corporate CEO’s who have a “quiet glass of wine” with their meal.
Don’t forget your own colleagues !!!!!!
Just because the alcohol cost more doesn’t mean it’s any less toxic. Worst drunks I ever took care of were University professors and high ranking CEO’s

Shout out from the LCBO on Dundurn Street in Hamilton 😂. This guy was interviewed on CHCh TV and it was hilarious.
Yes reducing is a good start and he does have a point about the sugary soda drinks
