I was just notified that my Medigap insurance has increased about 40%. I am on Medicare Plan G. If I were to change Medigap companies I understand that I would have to go through underwriting and requalify with a new insurance company. Is this correct? Thank you.

Insurance should be something like an investor. I should be able to pay into my insurance policy and if I suffer, no major health issues for so many years, I should be rewarded with a refund or a permanent discount to my future payments whereas my payments should always be for the rest of my life what they are the day I signed the contract. I don’t understand why we the people allow this to continue to, go on

It’s counterproductive for an agent to actively pursue saving you money, which would only serve to reduce his commissions. But, it’s my thought that if an agent actively pursues reducing my premiums - which in turn lowers his commissions, I know I’ve found a good agent whom I can trust with ALL my insurance needs!
