I agree and I’m a witness myself. I’ve trained 3 guys that were 50+ years old. They had decades of driving experience, but no food service experience. 2 of them finished training but never finished routes. They eventually quit within 2 months. 1 of them quit on the first week.
Shout out to my co-worker Leroy! He’s 55 years old and been doing this for 29 years!

Please don’t start food service at 60!!! Your body is not able to withstand the physical stress on your body.

I deliver auto parts to dealerships and I’m 60. There is some strain on the body but it’s nothing like food service.

There are many food service drivers who are in their 50’s & 60’s. However, I don’t recommend starting at 60. Most if not all of the guy’s that age have been in the game for many years. It’s a big difference.
