Did you know this field recording of “Swannanoa Tunnel” by Matt Heckler is now out on all the streaming spots? 💎📼

Out near Asheville, where Matt hangs his hat and where Anthony caught up with him for this recording, lies the Swannanoa Tunnel, shrouded in some pretty dark tales. Built by convicts, this tunnel saw too many workers lose their lives to accidents and horrid working conditions - the song was created by the hammer crews working the rails and passed along through the generations.

We love Matt’s version, his fiddle playing is absolutely electric! Throw this one on your next playlist, along with some of our other releases. We’re up to 26 different field recordings available for streaming and we’re not stopping anytime soon! Which one should we try and add next?
