I'm a trucker. I was on the road last year for my birthday. I decided to stop and get a nice steak dinner and a slice of cake at a little diner... The woman at the table beside me started crying because she felt so bad for me being alone... I appreciated the sweet sentiment and assured her I was ok, but she kinda bummed me out 😕... I got the rest of my food to go and ate alone (and peacefully) in my truc

Im not old im in my 30s and I LOVE eating alone in restaurants. I usually sit at the bar and not at a table but some places only have tables. I dont understand why it's weird. Its amazing. I watch videos or read a book, its lovely. I used to just get the food to go and eat alone at home and thats way sadder tbh lol

I got the rare opportunity to decide on a restuarant and eat by myself. I loved it. It was so easy and peaceful. All of my meals are a hassle. I have to adjust to multiple opinions and palettes with my family. Like sometimes eating by yourself could be lonely but if you can be comfortable with it, it really is nice. I dont think I ever looked at someone eating by themselves and pitied them. If I were to ever they have to look super depressed or crying.
When I worked at a breakfast restaurant in my 20s, there was an old local man who came every day rain or shine to have the same breakfast and read his newspaper. Every day without fail. The only time I felt bad for him was when my manager reported on an extremely bad winter day, we closed for safety - which we never do... he saw the old man's footprints in the snow walking up to the door and walking back home. 😢

People who can go out by themselves aren’t brave, they’re healthy
