I WFH and the company I work for sent me everything I needed, including a replacement headset after the original one stopped working. If a company isn't willing to do that then I'd be giving them major side-eye

It happened to me just a few days ago, and this is in Canada. I almost fell for it. They used the name of an existing pharmaceutical company. I was lucky to notice it was a scam at the very last moment. I hope no job seekers fall for it after watching Erin’s video. Thanks for the video!

I’m so glad you’re talking about this cause I nearly got scammed. If god and the spirt of discernment weren’t on my side I would have lost a LOT of money. God bless you for protecting people from these scammers.

This almost happened to me. I went through the interview process with someone and everything but once they told me, they were gonna send me a check. I instantly was like, no something feels off about this .I'm so glad you're making a video about this Because I absolutely did not realize this was a scam before and im so glad i trusted my gut

What's worse is some people who might be employed already would have quit their current job and would not only be out money but needlessly gone from employed to unemployed for no reason

People in the comments seem to be neglecting that the victim never received any equipment. The "preferred vendor" detail is for a reason being it's a fake website the scamer controls and takes the funds from the victims bank account which the dumb bank made available against the fraudulent check.

About a dozen companies tried this scam with me. I even accepted one job, knowing it was a scam and kept them busy for a week before I accepted. Then I got on skype and told them I knew it was a scam and glad I wasted a week of their time before blocking them. To be clear I never received the check because I never filled out the PDF with my name and social and other info. I kept telling them excuses.
