Idk if it’s just me but the main reason why I love to track is the level range it give me. I push backing vocals tracks way back in the mix and you can still hear every word clear. Or I can push leads up front in the mix with sounding too love or lower the vocals in the mix with sounding to low. Vocals just sit so much better when mixing.

This video really helped. I was thinking for so long that since -18 db = 0 that going past that would be clipping my anlog plugins. Ive had all my vocals peaking at -18 for months.
