I love & admire Otto Frank. He's got to be one of the best men & fathers that ever existed. Anne looked up to him so much. She entrusted her prized possession with only him. His family story breaks hearts. 💔

I come from the same hometown as Anne Frank, I remember having to do an assignment about her and her diary in German class. In the end of the book, where they said that Otto Frank was the only survivor, I seriously had to take a break. I cant imagine how it feels like to have both of your beloved children taken away. In her diary, she said that she loved her father to pieces and couldn’t imagine him dying, she also says that at one point- her father would always take her mother’s or sister’s side but she had loved him regardless. The pain, sorrow and guilt he must have felt… :((

What a wonderful trustworthy parent. If it would be my parents they won’t even let that go without reading the diary. I remember once I wrote some pages in a diary when my mom found it I asked her can you please not read it. She put it in her pant so I can’t get it back and read that. Now she wonder why I never trust her and hide things from her.

I taught The Diary of Anne Frank for many years. To me, it felt as if I knew her and her family personally (as well as the Van Pels family and Fritz Pfeffer). Otto was an incredible soul who we can all learn from.
