I initially thought the bookcase behind the couch was taking up space only for unnecessary knick-knacks, but I am wrong, it creates so much depth and thereby illusion of more space and interest. Great job, especially you didn't take the shelf to the ceiling. A TRUE professional.
Question: I have larger rooms, but everything is beige, tan, off white. Just like this. I wanted more color, especially my favorite ultramarine blue, then added 5% natural vibrant red colors. Was this a mistake?
BTW, I underestimated how important black is with this very pastel or midtone scheme.

I did a similar thing with a wardrobe and a shelving unit when I was a student 30 years ago. Really helped to zone areas and not see the bed constantly. Makes a cosy bed nook and the one room feels much better.🧡

This is a lovely way to make a private sleeping area. I always thought if I get a studio apartment, I would do something like this, but you’ve taken it to another level. So beautiful and calming!
