I think we should acknowledge the green, yellow, and orange flags, too. I imagine you probably heard about this flag system. In my book, hanging out with the same/opposite sex is a green/ yellow-green flag since it would indicate an ability to connect with other people. Alcoholism? I never really think too much about that, but I can only do so much. So, I'd personally say yellow at best. It will all depend on if the person afflicted is managing it and in treatment. I think the main issue regarding liking someone else is a product of some other culture, which is another comment. Everybody wants what isn't easily available. Because then it has to be appreciated. You can also learn to appreciate what's readily available. Humans are supposed to be wired to do a bit of both. Please know that this is intended with goodwill. Controlling, @$$hole, toxic? Miss me with that bulls***! Kink in the bedroom is a whole 'nother ball of wax! BDSM? I can only speak for myself at the end of the day.
