$100 cleaning fee after leaving the place spotless when I could have stayed at the Hampton inn with a free breakfast for $159 said it all.

When you look for a place, say, $200 a night, by the time they add all the fees, it is $400/night. Back to hotels.

1000% agree with that last comment. I don't feel one bit sorry for those landlords.

AirBnB is a scam. After all the fees, they're more expensive than hotels. Why do i have to do the chores that a hotel does for you, and they still expect a cleaning fee even though they already forced you to do the cleaning. Utterly ridiculous. These "hosts" have no business in hospitality.

Also, most hotels provide a pool to cool off and breakfast I don’t have to cook and clean a whole kitchen after.

It would be so nice to go back to having decent working class neighborhoods that are stable and affordable.

I HOPE SO! Enough with airbnb destroying the residential market. Also - we need to keep businesses out of the residential market.

I hate Air bnb. Residential zoned is not commercial zoned.
Air bnb operation should be illegal in residential zoned areas.
I'm surprised the hotel industry did not lobby for these laws to be reinforced. Especially homes with HOA.

What Airbnb is doing to local housing is despicable.

Screw them.

Here’s my experience: I have NEVER had a completely positive stay at an AirBnB. There was always something weird. One time I had to contend with a previous guest hanging out on the sidewalk (it was in a city) because he still needed to use the wifi. On another stay, the owner scolded me in the app for rearranging the furniture and told me I'd have to pay for that – which, of course, I didn’t do. Then after my stays, I feel coerced into leaving a positive review fearing I’ll get a bad review myself as guest. No thank you. I’ve been staying in hotels and find them much better after all.

It's literally only because of the ridiculous rates/fees hosts are charging now. Cheaper and more convenient to get a hotel. We stopped booking Airbnb.

Hotels: coffee guaranteed, no cleaning fees, no washing sheets or taking out trash, no complicated codes required to enter, no gathering someone else’s mail, and no back and forth internet conversations with random strangers.

1000% agree! There is nothing to feel sorry about. In my city there are many homes set aside for Air B & B. They would rather do air B & B than rent to people that live in the city. I do see a lot of empty homes/apartments because they are Air B & B.
I want to buy something but the stock in the city is really low and very high prices. In my neighborhood prices have almost doubled sins 2020.
I hope that these Air B & B greedy people lose out so that they are forced to sell or rent to someone that needs a home.

No we’re just sick of hearing about everything AirBNB does to protect peeping Toms. They don’t report hidden cameras to police!!

and many people in cities are getting fed up with their cities being over taken by short term rentals causing rent hikes and pushing locals out.
