Harvest Dolls for Mokosh and Veles:
These dolls are crafted from the last sheaf of wheat to honour Mokosh, goddess of the earth and fertility, and Veles, protector of the harvest and the underworld.
But their purpose doesn’t end with autumn…

In spring, during the Spring Equinox, these dolls can be used again - when it’s time to drown Morana, the goddess of winter. According to legend, Morana is reborn in spring as Mara, a young maiden of renewal. But in winter, she transforms into the fearsome goddess of death and frost — a cycle rooted in a tragic tale of loss and return.

How to Make Your Own Harvest Doll:
You'll need:

Dried corn leaves (soaked in water to make them flexible)
One long wooden stick (for the body)
One shorter stick (for the arms)
A walnut (for the head)
String or thread (to tie)
Ribbons (to decorate)
Wool or corn silk (for hair)
Harvest items like wheat (for the skirt)

Steps:
1. Place the walnut on top of the long stick — this is the head.
2. Wrap the shorter stick with a corn leaf and tie — this is the arm piece.
3. Attach the arms to the longer stick using string.
4. Take several corn leaves, place them upside down around the neck just below the walnut, tie them, and then flip them down to create the skirt.
5. Tuck wheat or dried herbs under the skirt and secure with string.
6. Add hair using wool or corn silk and glue it in place.
7. Draw a simple face with eyes and a mouth.
8. Decorate with ribbons and your harvest blessings.
When your doll is complete, place it on your altar or in your home. Give thanks to Mother Earth for the harvest and for her care through the seasons.

A beautiful way to connect with the cycles of life, death, and rebirth — just like our ancestors did. #oldreligion #pagantok #slavicpaganism #slavicpagan #slavicgods #veles #harvest #wheat #witchesoftiktok #folklore #slavicfolklore #slavicwitch #mokosh #morena #marzanna
