I don't agree with Sri Suresh Gopi, LS MP from Kerala. Indira Gandi is not mother of Bharat, don't know Karunakaran Nair as father of Congress. However, Suresh Gopi should stop praising any political leaders.

In 1971, Indira Gandhi won her parliamentary election in the Rae Bareli constituency. However, her opponent, Raj Narain, challenged the victory on grounds of electoral malpractice. He alleged misuse of government machinery for her campaign.
The Verdict: In June 1975, the Allahabad High Court found Gandhi guilty of using government resources for her election campaign. This was considered a minor infraction, but the court's verdict disqualified her from holding office for six years.
Gandhi's Response: Instead of resigning, Gandhi took a controversial step. She declared a state of emergency, effectively suspending many civil liberties and consolidating her power. This period, known as the Emergency, is a dark chapter in Indian history.
The Emergency in India was a 21-month period from 1975 to 1977 when Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had a state of emergency declared across the country. The order bestowed upon the prime minister the authority to rule by decree, allowing elections to be cancelled and civil liberties to be suspended. For much of the Emergency, most of Gandhi's political opponents were imprisoned and the press were censored. Several other human rights violations were reported from the time, including a mass campaign for vasectomy spearheaded by her son Sanjay Gandhi (Similar to that of Nazis)
This is the same time when Indira freely made changes in the Constitution with entire opposition in jail.

Too early to get 'Foot in the Mouth ' disease. Action- hero-English in "green" Malayalam accent speaking- should keep silent,do hard work in Trichur and boost up Tourism, Oil issues,Environment etc. Meantime, not do "Aisa waisa naatha jodna"...Madame Indira Gandhi eould like to continue being" mother" to her own.
.. late Mr Karunakaran was a congress leader in Kerala with beginnings in union activity which got many match,tile and timber factory owners' "monkey up" in the old days. Even he may like to continue to have paternal interests in Panampilly Nagar,Cochin..rather than spread it thin all over the Kerala Congress. Why are only "Father/Mother" relationships desirable.Politicians could query those hapless millions of Orphans, Blind,Handucapped who get 'abandoned' by their bio patents(not always,but many a time),and they may speak about a noble "Friend"..who fid everything for their survival. "Friend" is a true and reliable person..whose presence or absence would be known to most humans . It is a far better "role" - even in the unreal cinema world of Mr Suresh Gopi- than a lack- lustre parent(Fathers are so depicted on the screen!😮). Being equated to a "Friend" besides the aforesaid 'dignity'...certainly steers clear of clumsy,messy suggestive nuances associated with bilogical process of achieving "parenthood". Haven't we all heard the derisive "Tumhara Papa" insults thrown randomly to tirment adversaries. A "Friend" is above such crass missives..
BTW I do practice what I preach...and strictly enforce the need to address me as a "Friend" without age barriers- for more than a dozen destitutes under my guardianship. Even Almighty God is more a "Friend" in my eyes..."Parents" are so much more of a "private blood relation"
It is a good thing that popular "StarSuresh Gopi" has given Kerala a Central Ministerial chair(s!!). Like the very articulate Mr Shashi Tharoor, I hope Mr Suresh Gopi also brings fame to Kerala..
