So, fun tidbit. I've actually seen tortoise and hare races before. Tortoise actually genuinely wins much of the time. Hares get bored, or won't run in a straight line, or will stop to look at their surroundings. Tortoises pick a direction and just go. "Slow and steady," and whatnot.
