Can you fix socialising problems with autistic children? Why are autistic children so difficult? THIS is what we’re talking about today. In this video I’ll begin by validating and outlining the problems with autistic children, or in other words, the reasons why autistic children are more difficult to care for than neurotypical children. And in the second part of this video I go through solutions to make parenting autistic children a little bit easier.

I go through my favourite tips and solutions for fixing things like socialising with autistic children (I have the BEST tip for this, please try it!), improving food aversions and emotional regulation, and other long term solutions like gentle parenting and family structures that can improve your family life for you and your autistic child.

I think this is so important to talk about, because if we validate frustrated and overwhelmed parents that are trying super hard, plus share some practical solutions, we cover the whole basis. It is important to validate the struggles of the parents as well as the struggles of autistic children. So in this video, we’ll do just that!

I hope you find this video helpful! If you have any questions or looking for clarifications on anything I said, please comment below and I’l make sure to prioritise this video since this is truly important to me!

As an autistic adult, what I can tell you is I don't need more time to learn things. I need people who will teach me the way I learn, and stop putting me into the NT boxes and trying to force me to do things in a way my brain doesn't work.
If your autistic child is taking longer at things that is because you are asking them to do it backward to the way their brain is wired. Most of us, have above-average IQ, but if you ask us if we have above-average IQ we will tell you they are dumb because that is what they were taught in school. After all, they were expected to learn things in a way that is backward to how our brains work. When tested my IQ came back super high, and yet I graduated high school with a 2.0 GPA. Unless your autistic child has an actual learning disability they aren't slow learners they are probably bored learners, and more than likely exhausted trying to navigate NYC with a map of Moscow.

This is so true. Side note — it’s absolutely wild that I got a Sia music promotion ad underneath a video about autism, after everything she’s done. Hah.

The problem with time is people don't have time and patience just people in general who are not autistic you can see how outrageous they get with their anger and their harness I wish we did have more time and slow down and be kind to everybody Rochester one group but to all groups
