What is the most effective way to familiarize oneself with Nietzsche's philosophy? Is it by reading introductory books about his philosophy, or by directly reading his works? Which approach is more accessible? Which approach will help readers comprehend his ideas better? Is Nietzsche's philosophy challenging to understand? Can readers understand his books without any prior knowledge or background?

In 2019, I had the desire to explore the philosophy of Nietzsche, but I was intimidated by it at first. I didn't want to waste time trying to understand it on my own, so I decided to look for an introduction that could make things easier and i immediately found many resources to help me comprehend his philosophy better.

However, i suddenly changed my mind and decided to read Nietzsche's works on my own. Initially, I chose "On The Genealogy of Morals", which is considered one of his most challenging books. It left me feeling lost and disheartened after a few attempts. However, I persevered and gradually began to comprehend the complex concepts which made me eager to explore his other works.

This journey built my confidence, enabling me to tackle philosophers considered even more challenging, such as Heidegger and Schopenhauer. By exposing yourself to complex ideas consistently, you train your mind to better understand them. That's why i suggest everyone to directly start reading Nietzsche and if you feel like you don't understand everything, you can pick up and introduction to connect the dots.

Feel free to check my previous short video on the order i recommend to start reading Nietzsche's books.
