That was beautiful what you just said and I am a Christian Catholic, but I love your channel. I always keep it open mind. We are all children of the one true God whatever you want to call him cool with me doesn’t change the fact that ultimately there is only one through God original substance that made everything stay cool Brother America FLA

There is a certain personality type that gets extremely hung up on nuance and really wants to try and pick people apart that are on a path that has meaning to them. Anyone with a shred of honesty or intelligence knows these Icelandic books and traditions have a much older heritage and just like the older runic poems may have elements that are both Christian and heathen. The helm of awe is clearly a mighty symbol and invoking this type of power or protection is clearly attested in the old sources.

Saying the helm of all is a Christian symbol is like saying the cross is a Christian symbol. The Cross has been used since time immemorial. We modern folk connected to Christian religion because of its heavy use in that regard. But the cross, or simply two lines intersecting, is so much more meaningful than that!
In the same way, Icelandic staves are magical symbols that are said to give powers of protection, fertility or strength. Even helping someone find their way. At their core, that is what they are. They are Icelandic magical symbols. Connected in some way to Christianity does not diminish that fact. In fact, I would argue that it gives the symbol even more power and meaning.
The bottom line is, symbols cannot be owned by one ideology or religion. Their meaning can be closely tied to many different religions, cultures, people's, or nations. What you do with them and how you use them are up to you. It is we who wield the power of these symbols. The hammer will not nail a nail by itself. In the same way, a magical symbol can only be used if wielded by the user with intention and will.

Well said! Fundamentalism of any sort isn't an advantage to any religion, Paganism included.
