The force the Pusher exerts is to propel the Glider forward. 80-85% of the skater’s body weight should be on the Glider. When the weight is on the Pusher, the skater leans back and stays there, which dampens the force of the push. The force needs to be transferred to the Glider, much like a person (the Pusher foot) moves a wheelbarrow (the Glider foot). The force created acts on the Glider. The skater’s vertical axis is over the Glider.
