May not be showing favoritism directly but the fact that she said nothing complimentary about "Kelly" and hasn't discouraged her family from buying only her oldest expensive gifts says that at least subconsciously/internally she does favor the older one more.
If the family can't find it in their hearts to treat both of those girls equally well then they shouldn't be buying expensive sh*t at all.

The thing most people don't get in this section is the one daughter that does everything for everyone is probably given more over the course of the year.I have a sister like this(You know like one that does everything for everyone.),she gets a sh*t ton of stuff over the year but during b days and Christmas we each get equal budgets,no holidays aren't time to teach lessons about use getting you better or worse stuff.Birthdays and Christmas should be a time of equity.

This is a fine time to teach her a life lesson or two: 1) Life isn't fair. 2) We are not equal/ Everyone is different. 3) being kind to others will reap hidden rewards. 4) You can only control your own actions, not the actions of anyone else.
