As a diesel tech who knows multiple ford techs , the 7.3l 94.5-03) and 6.7l should be swapped

1. Any 12 valve, 2. Any 7.3 powerstroke, 3. 07.5 to 12 6.7 cummins, 4. LBZ, 5. 03 to 07 common rail cummins.

#1 7.3 powerstroke
#2-5 All are different variations of the 5.9 Cummins

12 valve cummins and 7.3 powerstroke are definitely the 2 most reliable. 6.7 powerstroke is a beast though

For your number 1. What about the CP4 problems? Also, the early commonrail cummins had a lot of injector problems. The 12 valve and 7.3L should be higher on the list.

My only problem with this whole thing is the LBZ Duramax isn’t on here cause I have one and the LBZ is one of if not the most reliable diesels ever made

Silly not to mention the LBZ.

No way in hell the 6.7 powersmoke is more reliable than the classy 6.9/7.3 international fartsniffer.

My dad's 99 7.3 just hit the 720,000 mile mark and just got brake pads for the first time

My dad put 427 thousands miles on his 2008 6.7 Cummins and then he sold it when the transmission failed.

I’ve owned and beat my lbz and it’s never let me down, the only trucks I see at our shops are Dodge Cummins.

I agree! Bought an '05 Ram new, took great care of it! Traded in 2017...200k miles, that engine eas as good as new! Everything else, no way.

Bought a new 2018 Super Duty. Love it, still low miles. More complex, could be a bear to repair and requires DEF.

If the Ram hadn't collapsed around that great 5.9, i would still have it.

17-19 powerstrokes were famous for turbo failures, my 17 went through four in the first 40,000 miles.

I agree on the lb7. Aside from its fueling issues there “from what I’ve heard” tougher built than the lly or lbz. But all three are excellent motors
