That's all correct, but you forgot the part where depending on species it can take anywhere from 10 to 40 YEARS for a tree to mature. Admirable goal absolutley, but the benefits won't start immediately sadly.

If dome CORRECTLY, it would be great. But humans have a tendency to screw stuff up even when they have the best intentions. Trees need a specific type of diversity in age in order to thrive so what you would end up having is a lot of trees all the same age. And what's not even get into invasive species in specific areas you would also probably mess up the biodiversity and could lead to specific species overwhelming ecosystems, the first that comes to mind are insects

Also bio diversity, land cover, water usage, shade, lack of solar reflection. Planting trees in this scale is a very complex geo engineering project with many unintended circumstances.

Need to check for the types of endemic species, otherwise they'll be dying quick and cause pollution... Honestly we'll have to invest more on mangroves and corals.... Forests too, but again, only when done right... The part of trees contributing to the water cycle is accurate..
