On low pressure units like these you can squeze that copper pipe shut and give it a quick brazing seal with no problems after checking your work is good and running again. You can have more pressure in a gardenhose than this tube.

On 134a systems I use these for just recovery. Then i braze on extra line with a access valve to give the tech in the future to service.
