I love seeing your disembodied head, and I completely agree that although it seems like someone ignorant who refuses to read any literature beyond Lord Of The Rings, the idea that anyone else is just "political correctness" or "woke" is really insidious. I guess it's something that we don't think about too often, and I'm glad to have it brought to my attention

i don't understand people like that commenter and that's coming from someone whose favorite authors are currently a queer white woman and straight white women. oh and rick riordan.
i do have a question though, what are some good ways to broaden my favorite authors? i find that i get stuck on one author and just keep reading them.

I mean this respectfully as an African woman and a longtime subscriber of your channel who also reads widely, but isn't this deliberately taking that argument in bad faith? Granted I don't know what transpired before that argument, but I don't think non cis het white male authors are immune from being politically incorrect. Take for example Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, a black African woman, who has come under fire for transphobic comments.
Discourse is hard in a youtube comment section but I hope you don't take this argument as an upsetting attack, just simply that I feel like there is some nuance here
