They are horrible for us with disabilities! I already struggled opening/closing bottles before, but it's almost impossible now 😢

Didnt have a problem with it when they came. We dont drink a lot of soda and mostly buy cans or glass bottles. BUT WHEN THEY PUT THEM ON THE MILK CARTONS THEN IT GOT PERSONAL

Some close without a problem and some have decided to ruin your day!

This EU law seems almost like a plot to unite eurpoean citizens. We now have a common enemy! The bottle caps! 😂

As for the Finland, this doesn't just involve the bottlecaps, EU also wants to disband the current Finnish bottle recycling system that manages to recycle 98% of the bottles and soda cans. As for why, it's because they are crushed and re-manufactured instead of being just washed, practice that was banned decades ago because bottles containing cigarette butts and gasoline got refilled and sold.

Once I bought a bottle of ice tea with this cap. Only drank a sip of tea, then I closed it and put it into my backpack. Then I got on a tram and only there I noticed that my clothes were soaking wet on me and there was a puddle around me. Well, it turned out I didn't succesfully screw back the cap and all the tea just disappeared into my backpack, its content and my clothes. 😂

Why has this thing suddenly becme so common in the UK? Its worse on smoothies or milkshakes where the attached lid can drip on you when you try to pour or drink it.

I always put the lid back on when im done anyway, who doesn't?

I was at a conference and got a bottle of water with that type of lid. As I was busy looking at stuff, I didn't notice that I screwed the cap on eeeever so slightly misaligned. This caused the water to leak out and into my headset. Luckily it survived after leaving it to dry, but this stupid cap almost caused me to produce unnecessary electronic waste. (I normally carry a reusable bottle with a normal removable cap so I don't have to deal with this ****)

Whoever came up with that design managed to achieve one thing, a discussion topic for every dinner table. I kid you not I think it has been brought up how much we hate those lids and how literally none ever lost them before that and how most people just rip or cut them off anyway, at every singe gathering of people I've been in since they started appearing. Even if the very same people discussed the same thing 1 month ago it will come up again as soon as someone opens a bottle.

The first thing I always do with these caps is forcefully remove them from the bottle so I can close it like a normal person

those caps suck!
edit: as one commenter mentioned, they're even worse on milk cartons! whoever thought that this would be a great thing to implement, should be trapped in a snow storm

I had the pleassure of seeing Jack Black react to these caps live when he tried to open an imsdal water bottle at the Tenacious D concert in Oslo spektrum this year

Yes this is infuriating. I've permanently moved a pair of side cutters into my kitchen drawer that i use to clip off the whole ring from the bottle and throw it in the trash. I never threw any part of a plastic bottle in the trash before, so this new design is making me waste more plastic :)

Who unscrews the cap and throws it away? Only idiots, and they will throw away the whole bottle, cap or no cap. Useless rule!

I struggled with these caps until I relized that they just require the cap to be on perfectly straight before you try to twist. There's an argument to be had about why a bottle cap should require that level of precision though...
