Fords sold in the US are slightly different. (post 2000-ish ones at least)
They work as follows under normal circumstances:
Push the lock button once on the fob... doors lock
Second time... horn sounds once if all is well and alarm is armed OR horn sounds twice to let you know that something is either not closed completely or there is a problem.
‘99 and older fords are different.
(Had an ‘01 Windstar that always beeped twice. Never did figure out why.)

If you click the key lock twice the horn will sound signifying that the window censors are armed and the gimble is armed
One click shake van no alarm
Two click horn goes then shake van alarm sounds even while locked doors closed and windows not broken

The horn sounds like that to let you know one of the doors aren’t closed properly so it won’t lock. If your van does that sound when you lock it you have a problem

Very interesting indeed. Yep I would have thought that too. Also if you unlock the door lock with the key, the alarm does not go off even if actuated. Ford should be fined for that

I don't get it, your horn sounds when you lock the doors and one is open, so you locked the side door, then closed it with the fob, and it didn't make a horn sound witch is Wright. To me your not making seanse.

Horn sounds as a warning that one or more of your doors are not properly closed. It was sounding always, prior to repair, because the piece was faulty and not registering that the door is closed when it was, hence why the horn was sounding always when locking. You replaced the piece, and horn went away as now car was registering all doors closed.
Now i have a problem that suddenly my bsck doors started to sometimes sound the horn, sometimes not, and its driving me crazy.
