Good test! I hope it's ok to suggest finding a YouTube yoga or pilates for balance. Find something that works for you. Do it a few times and you will notice a difference.

The brain loses some communication with the feet. I couldn't balance on my left leg for one single second for perhaps the preceeding 20 years and my right for maybe 5 seconds. After seeing a chiropractor for a lower back issue, he tested my reflexes in my feet and there was none in my left foot at all. After some treatment my back got better and I regained my reflex response and the ability to balance for maybe 30 seconds on either foot returned.
