After a good many years in the USAF, seeing these planes take off and land all day, C17s banking hard above the base and dropping pet rocks we loaded on them, and working every C141 and C5 in the inventory.. the only reason I go to airshows is to see the WWII and Korean War stuff.
The most impressive thing I ever saw at an airshow was the SR71 leaving Paris in 1989. The Soviets had the AN225 there by Buran on it, and I got a really nice two frame on 35mm shot of an SU27. I missed the Mig29 splattering by a day. I was stationed in Frankfurt the year the wall came down, and when the massive airlift for Desert Shield/Storm began. That was when I worked every C141 and C5 we had flying.
Airshows with the prop planes is still fun, and I like the A1s a lot too. If I ever had lots of money, I would own a Mig21.... F4U-1D, P40E, and P38J. But I don't have any money so muscle cars will have to suffice.

I've lived on or near an Air Force base my whole life, so I've seen many jets. The F-35 is the loudest jet ever! When one is flying above you cant hear anything else, so you stop talking until its gone
