you can somewhat avoid this issue by using folders. With folders you can use the lasso erase and figure out which batch of layers is messed up.
It's also generally nice to keep things organized.

GUYS I KNOW HOW TO ERASE IT!
If its on a background, you might have to redraw that one spot though.
Go to the special pen.
Press the three dots.
Press lasso erase.
Toggle erase all layers.
Boom, you're done๐คฉ
