𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐄𝐑 𝐊𝐇𝐔𝐑𝐌𝐀 - 𝐄𝐈𝐃 𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐋
No Eid celebration can be considered complete without a big bowl of Delicious Sheer Khurma. Its a Traditional, Classic, Festive dessert that is specially made on Eid ul Fitar. As the name suggests, this Rich & Creamy Desert is made with whole milk, dates, loads of nuts, vermicelli & ghee. Serve it warm or cold & celebrate this Meethi Eid with this Traditional Meetha & enjoy it with your loved ones.
𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:
Oil/Ghee – 3 tablespoon
Slivered Almonds – 1/4 cup
Pistachios – 1/8 cup (roughly chopped)
Pitted Dry Dates/ Chohary – 6 (julienne cut)
Dry Coconut – ¼ cup (roughly sliced)
Green Cardamom – 4
Vermicelli/ Siwayian – 1 cup (crushed roughly with hand)
Full Cream Milk – 2 liters
Condensed Milk – 3/4 cup or as required
𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬:
Heat Oil/Ghee in a pan on medium heat and add chopped/ sliced nuts and dried dates in it. Cook it for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and turn beautiful golden brown. Remove them from the pan and set aside.
In a separate large sauce pan, heat oil and add few cardamoms pods and crushed Vermicelli in it. Fry it for 3-5 minutes until it starts becoming light golden brown in color. When done, add milk and stir it well. Increase the heat to high to bring the milk to a boil, stirring it occasionally in between. When done, lower the heat to medium and let it boil for few more minutes until milk reduces in quantity and thickens up a bit. Add Condensed Milk or Sugar and mix it well until fully dissolved. Now add sautéed dates and nuts that we prepared earlier to it. Check the sweetness and adjust it accordingly. Let the mixture simmer on medium low heat stirring it in between till it thickness & reaches to the desired consistency. Turn off the heat & let it cool down a bit.
Thick creamy Sheer Khurma is ready to serve.
Garnish it with more nuts & serve it hot or chilled & enjoy it with your family and friends on Eid.
