Melchideck meaning king of the righteous proverbs 11 30 the fruits of the righteous is the tree of life Jesus is the tree of life Jesus preached the kingdom of God is at hand. This is nominalism aka "name only ism." That something could be arbitrarily called righteous without actually having the substance of righteousness, is a medieval philosophical concept (William of Ockham). This would have been nowhere on the Apostles radar.
He became what we are so that we might become what He is (Athanasius). Theosis. Divinization. Christification. Not nominal and arbitrary imputed righteousness.

Hey Keith!
The bible never talks about an imputation of righteousness as something you need to borrow from somene else. When God declares we are righteous he is making a statement of our character.
JUSTIFICATION AND THE GREEK WORD LOGIZOMAI**
Logizomai is a greek word in the bible and your protestant scholars agree with me that it actually is never used to infer you are having someone elses righteousness counted as your own.
I challenge anyone here to cite a passage where the bible uses this word in this manner. There are no passages in the bible talking about you borrowing Christs righteousness
You are not wearing Jesus skin to sneak into heaven. There are no passages saying that in scripture.
