These fire starters work however they're big and bulky. To me nothing beats cotton balls and Vaseline. Personally I cut a small section of straw, take pliers and a lighter and heat seal one end. Then I rub vaseline on a cotton ball and stuff it in the straw on the other end with a toothpick. Once the cotton ball is completely inside I heat seal the other end. When I'm ready to start a fire, I just nip a corner to expose some cotton, and use my Ferro rod to ignite it.TIP, make your fire lay first and use lots of small shavings first, then move up in wood size as the fire grows.
