Bolt travel length is import. So in the science of guns the bolt has to move back the length of the cartridge it feeds minimum. It can’t be smaller as it won’t feed obviously. But in some cases to reduce recoil and slow down the cyclic rate some smgs are given a bit of bolt over travel this reduces recoil and the fire rate. However for the micro uzi. It has no room for the bolt to over travel instead the bolt has stiffer springs and a rubber buffer at the back of the reciever. This gives it an insane 1000 rpm fire rate.
