One of the main things that stood out to me watching Owen Power live, besides the fact he's a 6'6' ballerina...
Was the looseness and relaxation in his upper body and hands
1. Use of the wrist springs
Watch his wrists when he's doing the Kane drags at the dot and on the fake passes.
Notice how they almost have this bounce effect. Like they are dangling and swaying back and forth.
That's what having "SOFT" hands looks like and using the wrist springs!
He's also get's max flexion on his top wrist (90 degrees) and max extension on his bottom.
What this does is creates a stretch along your "forearms" which causes your wrists to bounce/spring back like an elastic. The only way to take advantage of this "stretch shortening cycle" is by relaxing your wrists and forearms, like Power.
Another effect of the wrist springs is the puck lagging behind the hands, which you also see with Power's Kane drags and fake passes.
2. Floating elbow
Notice how his elbow is up and to the side, relaxed and loose. Like it's being held up by a string, floating in space.
It's not rigid or pinned back, but relaxed and loose.
You also see a nice triangle created between his forearm, which is a good sign of a floating elbow.
3. Crevice
Although, his hand is coming out to fake the pass and deke, notice where it's always returning to... right to his crosby crevice hip.
