I look at myself in the mirror and I think I look good. But in photos especially not selfies I think I look awful and it gives me massive depression. So idk if I’m ugly or not. No one’s ever called me ugly and I do get compliments from friends that I look good but I swear I’m always the ugliest in every group. Atleast that’s how I think ugh. And if enough people thought you resembled a famous sex symbol - an iconic Playboy Playmate centerfold model, for example - that would mean you're highly attractive. If people IRL compared you to a Playboy Playmate centerfold model, they perceived you as 'stereotypically beautiful and sexy.'

I agree. Seeing editing images of yourself creates a gap between our perceived self image and desired self image. Thus, breeding insecurity that has no real foundation at all.
