Being poor shouldn't mean that you throw trash everywhere, let everything go to shit. Only some people react that way. I'm poor, but I'm not going around filthy all the time.

I did some volunteer work there with my church. We repaired homes for the elderly.

Louisiana is literally a top 5 state people are leaving. Why work here when the same jobs in Texas pay more, plus without the state taxes? Used to be a Louisianian, that’s how I know. Not to mention high crime and hurricane disaster region.

I didn't know Shreveport was a place which used to have an automobile industry. I have the vague memory of it being a crawfish capitol...

I remember my stepdad getting sent to the GM plant in Shreveport to work a lot as a kid. He retired in 1993.

It's the people living there. Nobody wants to be their neighbor.

I work in Bossier City and a lot of my day is spent in Shreveport. When I first took the job and saw Shreveport for the first time, I was absolutely mind blown that a city could be so bad

The federal government needs to investigate the decline of small towns! I know money was received, but who received it because those towns didn't get a dime: take the money and run was the mindset of the leaderships

The sarcastic tone you put in your narration is hilarious. Reminds me of Jerry Seinfeld trying to act mad.😅

the black lives matter grafitti explains it all. The burnt up houses, etc- that's what happens when people fervently believe someone owes them, should give and do everything free for them. If normal low income, not on assistance were brought in, they would be so grateful to be given one of those run down homes. I know i would. I would fix the house up inside and out, no fancy remodel stuff. Just simple clean up, repairs, painting, to have a clean, humble house to live in, with a big garden. Those like us are not given that chance. It's either let these low class, filthy people take over, or bring in developers that build failed, expensive buildings no one can afford to buy.

Louisiana has long been with a super high alcoholism rate. One newspaper that hired me in Baton Rouge told me they drank together and had a free employee's drying out provision!!!🙄😬
I needed a job but quit in 2 days after 3 job interviews with them. They treated minorities like it was slave days!
